Character Breakdown
● Scrooge: A man who lost his father to creditors as a child and has grown up following his father’s advice to save money. Grumpy and unsympathetic until he realizes how terrible he has become.
● Mr. Cratchit: A father and husband who cares deeply for his family, especially his youngest son. Works hard to provide for them but is mistreated by his employer, Scrooge.
● Mrs. Cratchit: Tiny Tim’s mother and Mr. Cratchit’s wife. A loving mother who tries to provide the best for her children with what she has.
● Fred: Scrooge’s nephew and only living relative. A pleasant young man who believes in the joy of the Christmas spirit.
● Sandwich Board Barker / Ghost of Christmas Present: A jovial, larger-than-life ghost who shows Scrooge the joy, love, and celebration he is missing out on.
● Lamplighter / Ghost of Christmas Past: An ever-cheerful, sprightly ghost who shows Scrooge the events that led to his current state.
● Blind Old Hag / Ghost of Christmas Future: A beautiful and terrifying wraith, strong and silent as she shows Scrooge the consequences of his current path.
● Ghost of Marley: Scrooge’s former business partner, who was like Scrooge in life. Returns as a ghost in chains to warn Scrooge about the consequences of his life decisions.
● Mr. Smythe: A respectable but poor man.
● Emily: Scrooge’s fiancée from when they were young. A beautiful girl, unimpressed by or in need of money.
● Young Scrooge: The young version of Scrooge.
● Young Marley: The young version of Marley.
● Mr. Fezziwig: A jolly man who used to throw a huge Christmas party every year. Scrooge’s first boss who taught him everything he knew and was deeply disappointed in what Scrooge became.
● Mrs. Fezziwig: The consummate hostess and Mr. Fezziwig’s wife, she loved helping throw the annual Christmas party.
● Scrooge’s Mother: Scrooge’s mother.
● Mrs. Mops: Scrooge’s housekeeper.
● Old Joe: A Rags and Bone man.
● Sally: Fred’s wife.
● Tiny Tim: Mr. and Mrs. Cratchit’s youngest son. Crippled and sick but embodies the loving Christmas spirit, constantly reminding his family that as long as they have each other, they will be happy.
● Young Scrooge: The youngest version of Scrooge during Christmas Past.
● Fan: Scrooge’s sister.
● Grace Smythe: A respectable but poor young girl.
● Turkey Child: A young child on the street who gets the prize turkey for Scrooge.
